My 1080 Ti FTW3 Fans Don't Spin

Last Update: 2017/06/13

On the FTW3, there is a noted issue with the fan curves applied to the card not initializing or adjusting in response to changes in temperatures on the card. We have released a firmware patch for these units to resolve this issue.

If you are experiencing this issue, please follow the instructions below to update your card's firmware with the patch:

  1. Download the FTW3_Flash.zip file from our site here:
  2. Select the file named "EVGAFTW3FLASH.exe"
    Select.jpg
  3. When the flashing utility opens, it should look like this:
    main.jpg
  4. If the file shown does not automatically update to the .HEX file as shown, make sure to select the correct file:
    open.jpg
  5. Once you have the correct file selected, click the "Flash" button.
Do NOT Check the "Overwrite Product Type" option

A box with pop up with the following:
    yes.jpg Click "Yes" to continue...

  6. Wait for the flashing process to complete, this should take less than a minute
    progress.jpg

If the process takes longer than this, or does not succeed, check to make sure that your card is properly installed and that there are no anti-virus or tuning applications open that may be causing interference. You should hear the fans spin up to 100% and then slow down to their normal speed.

  7. When the progress bar completes, you will see a success dialogue appear:
    complete.jpg

At this point your card should be successfully updated. Restart the system and the process should be complete.
