DIMM Sockets

The two 184-pin DIMM sockets are capable of supporting a maximum of 2 GB of SDRAM. They accept DDR266, DDR333 and DDR400.

You can see that the DIMM sockets are located high on the board. The idea here is that typically memory and CPUs are installed on the motherboard prior to inserting it into a case. This way, the memory is up and out of the way of more important connectors, making it that easier to set up and configure your system.
