Can it get any better with an EVGA.com AGP 4X video card?

It just did.

EVGA.com announces the release of the e-GeForce4 Ti 4200-8X. Imagine the blistering speed of the original e-GeForce4 Ti 4200 now on the AGP 8X bus. The AGP 3.0 Specification increased the strobe rate from 266 MT/s with AGP 2.0 to 533 MT/s with AGP 3.0. This now doubles the peak AGP bandwidth to 2.1 GB/s. Check out our AGP 8X Article to learn more about the AGP 3.0 (8X) specification.

Based on most powerful graphics processor on the planet, but designed to allow everyone to experience the world of advanced 3D graphics that the GeForce4 Ti line can provide with new performance attributed to advances in existing GeForce3 technology such as Lightspeed Memory Architecture™ (LMA) II, nfiniteFX™ II engine, Accuview Antialiasing™ as well as the versatile nView multi-display support. Certain models also include the ability and versatility of Video-In/Video-Out (VIVO) capability.

Lightspeed Memory Architecture II - An obstacle affecting the realism of many artificially rendered scenes was the memory bottleneck present on modern cards. NVIDIA Lightspeed Memory Architecture™ (LMA) II picks up where the GeForce3 left off, further improving how memory data is retrieved from cache. The Quad Cache features four individually dedicated memory caches, each optimized for instant memory access. Other memory enhancements include 4:1 lossless Z-compression technology and a second generation Z-occlusion culling, a technique that predetermines pixel rendering for objects hidden behind other objects thereby saving valuable memory bandwidth.

nfiniteFX II - Pixel and vertex shading of the nfiniteFX™ II engine breathes life into a computer generated object by eliminating the boxy look in place of human-like hair and reptilian skin found in the movie Jurassic Park. Skin stretches with as well as full detail to pick out the intricate grain patterns of wood panels. The GPU of the GeForce4 nearly triples the performance of vertex shading of its GeForce3 predecessor as well as doubles the amount of pixel shading. Graphic developers of games now have a full arsenal of technological tools at their disposal to create digital masterpieces once found only on high-end graphic development systems.

Accuview Antialiasing - An ongoing trend to achieve this in depth look and feel is a move towards antialiasing, the technological process of removing the “jaggies” that can affect realism of a 3D image. This can be accomplished through NVIDIA’s patent pending Accuview Antialiasing™ technology with modes of 2X, 4X, Quincunx and new 4XS mode. The concern of utilizing antialiasing in games or graphic applications was the performance hit to the system. Now full screen antialiasing can operate at speeds where antialiasing was turned off.

nView Technology - The final piece to the puzzle is the nView technology that feeds the growing demand for a multi-display solution. More and more users are adopting this trend for either a home and work environment where a user can watch their favorite DVD movie on their television set while writing an email to a friend on the other. An example of a work application includes the stock broker, monitoring his stocks on one computer screen while reading the morning reports on the other. The effect is to enlarge the existing Windows desktop to span across two display devices running the gamut of analog CRT monitors, digital flat panel or LCD screens as well as television sets through an S-Video port. The availability of these features depends on the connector configuration on your card.

VIVO Capability - The e-GeForce4 Ti 4200-8X 128 MB version will ship with Video In/Video Out (VIVO) capability, allowing one to capture video from a VCR, Camcorder or other recordable device via the S-Video and RCA Composite connectors. Video editing software, installation drivers and video input/output cable will be included within the package.

Availability -The e-GeForce4 Ti 4200-8X will be available late October/November 2002.
