EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ Features
The new EVGA GeForce GTX 970 is powered by the next-generation NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.
Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next-generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPUs can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology). Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.
Preinstalled Backplate
Included backplate gives the FTW+ card a nice clean look, and helps reinforce the PCB.
dBi – dB Noise Inverter
EVGA's ACX 2.0+ fan turns off below 60C, generating 0dB of noise. This means the EVGA card is completely silent during idle!
QSD BIOS – Quick Switch Dual BIOS
Multiple integrated BIOSes allow you to switch to the secondary BIOS with the flick of a switch. This allows you to tweak and troubleshoot with ease. The secondary BIOS also has an alternate fan curve, allowing for the ultimate cooling performance!
MMCP – Memory MOSFET Cooling Plate
Full size cooling base plate makes direct contact with memory and MOSFETs, reducing memory temperature up to 14% and MOSFET temperature up to 47%.
OPT – Optimized Power Target
The power target is precisely tuned for the perfect balance of thermal, power and performance, offering 33% more power over reference. More power allowing for higher and more stable overclocking!
SHP – Straight Heat Pipes
Triple 8mm straight heat pipes offer 6% better heat dissipation than bent heat pipes with reduced thermal resistance, lowering GPU temperature.
EVGA ACX 2.0+ Cooling
EVGA ACX 2.0+ cooling is a breakthrough. We did a full redesign on the motor, from improved magnets, to changing how the internals are designed to help reduce acoustic noise from the fan. Furthermore, ACX 2.0+ drastically lowers fan power consumption, unlocking additional power for the GPU. Learn more about ACX 2.0+ here.
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ ACX 2.0+
The World's Most Efficient Air Cooler
Most graphics card manufacturers only focus on one aspect when designing their cooling solution and neglect all other aspects of the fan design and heatsink. With EVGA ACX 2.0+, we focused on the details that make a real difference, not just marketing jargon.
In fact, did you know that the power consumption of a fan can directly affect your overclocking ability? Modern NVIDIA graphics cards have a maximum power ceiling that takes into account the fan power consumption, meaning the lower the power consumption from the fan, the more power available for the GPU! Triple fan coolers from competitors increase power consumption, thereby lowering your maximum overclocking headroom. When it comes to graphics cards cooling, less is more!
Back to basics for improved efficiency.
We did a full redesign on the motor, from improved magnets, to changing how the internals are designed to help reduce acoustic noise from the fan. Furthermore we also increased the fan blade count, which creates higher pressure allowing the heatsink and fan to cool better without needing to increase the motor speed and increase noise levels. This will help reduce the temperatures of the card and keep the fan noise down, increasing the lifespan of the card; all of this frees up additional power for overclocking.
